Special assembly on Janamashtami by classes 1 and 2

At 8 am on 2nd September 2023, the little students of classes 1 and 2 presented a special assembly on Janamashtami with great enthusiasm in the School hall.

The students of class 1 presented an enactment of the Kaliya Mardan, a significant episode from Lord Krishnas life. It depicts the story of the young Krishna vanquishing the multi-headed serpent demon, Kaliya, who had become a menace in the river, Yamuna. It is a tale of the victory of good over evil. An added bonus of teaching this piece to the children is that Lord Krishna was a little boy when he overcame the evil, just like our little students. The children were encouraged to relate to the tale and be motivated to imbibe the quality.

The skit emphasised the importance of righteousness, the victory of good over evil and the divine prowess of Lord Krishna, instilling in children the core principle of goodness and how it prevails.

The spirit of festivity and community was enhanced when 20 students, two each from all the classes, sang melodious songs of Krishna and danced to Mohe rangeela, chhail chhabila, dressed as Krishna and Radha.

The show served as a medium to connect the young children with the universal values as enshrined by the tales of Krishna, in an entertaining way.
