In an attempt to sensitise young students about Indian heroes who battled odds and then climbed to touch the pinnacle of success, a special assembly was held by class 1 C in the School auditorium.
The assembly introduced the theme and then proceeded to stage a skit whose title was Famous Heroes of India. It brought to light the life and struggle of popular actor Hrithik Roshan who struggled for years with a bad stammer, but then with his grit and perseverance journeyed to become a super star.
[gallery link="file" order="DESC"]The skit was followed by a power point presentation depicting the lives of Sudha Chandran, Yuvraj Singh, Abdul Kalam and Dr. B.R Ambedkar. Through the PPT, the children were told about how the lives of these people have inspired countless Indian down the generations.
The assembly concluded with a song I am glad I am me sung by the student choir. The assembly was enjoyed by the students and was an effective medium of learning for them as the children were all actively involved in it, from conceptualising, planning and executing including speaking on stage, acting and singing. Indeed no order is too tall to reach for and touch!
