Special Assembly on the Value of Kindness by class 5D

Students of class VD conducted a special assembly on Friday 9th December 2016 in the auditorium on the value of Kindness. In attendance were the students and class teachers of classes IV and V.

The host at the assembly was Yahvi Rishi of VD who started the assembly by defining kindness. Hrdya Jain and Sneha Kohli highlighted the virtues of kindness citing, examples laced with thoughtful quotes. An interesting quote by Abraham Lincoln read - ' Kindness is the only service that will stand the storm of life and not wash out.' They also described acts of kindness undertaken by students and teachers of our School such as the recent drive of donating warm clothes for the poor in collaboration with the company, Ezee Hugs.

Anshika Keshwani and Tanishka Chawla then presented a small poem on kindness, followed by a short skit, written by Pavani Agarwal and based on an epic story of Gautam Buddha as a child. The title of the skit was Siddhartha saves a Swan. The following students performed in the skit: Narrators - Pavani Agarwal and Kabir Mongia, Siddharth Gautama Buddha - Maahir Handa, Shamit Sharma - Devadutta, Pulkit Bhawsinghka the King, Mahishika Chanana the Queen, Zaayan K Farooqui the old man, Dhruv Rahi the trainer, Parth Tara, Arnav Dhingra and Divyansh Rajoria - courtiers. All the students were confident and completely involved in the performance.

This skit was followed by dances illustrating the value. The students who performed here were Nyasa Srivastava, Pavani Agarwal, Hiya Aggarwal, Meher Kaur, Fariyah Sughara, Ansheeka Arora, Bharti Gupta, Gaurangi Malhotra, Sana Haider, Aliya Mathur, Arnav Sharma, Cheerayu Saha, Manvit Verma, Partth Minocha, Prithvi Chauhan, Saurabh Gupta and Tanush Katiyar.

Finally, the entire class concluded the assembly with a special song that glorified kindness and inspired students to adopt it as a trait in their daily lives.
