Guru Nanak Dev ji was the first of the ten Sikh gurus and the founder of Sikhism. His birth anniversary of is observed as Gurpurab across the globe. Guru Nanak travelled widely to spread the message of oneness and compassion.
This year Guru Nanak Jayanti will be celebrated on the 23rd of November 2018. To observe this auspicious occasion, Pre-school Hercule presented a special assembly on 22nd November 18. The students came dressed in traditional Sikh attire and the assembly commenced with a prayer followed by a demonstration of the customary Prabhat Pheri. Some students then came forward to share useful information relating to the life and teachings of Guru Nanak Dev ji.
[gallery link="file" order="DESC"]The tiny tots also presented the bhangra to the traditional bhangra drumbeats. Several in the audience could be seen tapping the floor in enjoyment too! Finally the Ek Onkar prayer was chanted by the students in reverence and homage.
The assembly concluded by our Pre-Primary Head Teacher Ms. Ritu Singh appreciating the performance of the young performers and encouraging them to follow upon what Guru Nanak Dev ji taught and lived for.
