Special Eid Assembly by class 4B

On 26 October, 2012, students of class 4B showcased Eid celebrations during the morning assembly for the students of classes 3 and 4 in the School auditorium.

The assembly began with one of the students explaining the significance of festivals in India. Another student explained the significance of Eid and why it is celebrated. Eid -Ul Juha in Arabic is also called Eid -Ul Adha. Eid-Ul-Juha is also called the feast of the sacrifice. The occasion is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide to honour the willingness of Abraham to sacrifice his son Ishmael as an act of obedience to God. This was before God intervened and offered him a sheep to sacrifice instead. Students dressed in white kurta-churidars enacted the various aspects of the festival.
