Spell- Bee competition, classes 2 and 3

An inter- house Spell- Bee competition was organised on 24 July, 2013 between classes ll and lll.

All students were given an equal opportunity to represent their houses in the preliminary rounds at the intra-class level. Students qualified by mastering words from a spelling list. There were several tie-breaker rounds for elimination.

The competition generated a great deal of excitement. 10 students of each house from classes 2 and 3 were selected as representatives and seated on stage .

The first round was the Power Spell where each participant was asked to spell a word.

The second round was Jumbled words, in which students had to place the jumbled alphabets in the correct order to make a word, within the time given.

[gallery columns="2"] The third round was Fill up to insert othe missing alphabet to make a complete word in the time specified.

The fourth round was Clue wherein the vocabulary of the students was tested along with spelling. Students had to guess the correct word based on clues given in the form of spoken statements.

Finally the audience got a chance to answer questions through a quick spell-well round.

The competition was well received by the students . They participated with great enthusiasm delighting in each point they won for their teams and houses.

CHANDRA House emerged victorious although the other houses provided a very keen contest. Infact the competition ended very close.
