SPOT FIX by the Citizenship Programme under the railway crossing on Africa Avenue
On 12th May 2016, the Citizenship Programme, in collaboration with the citizen- volunteers' group, New Delhi Rising, and the Bengaluru based THE UGLY INDIAN, undertook a SPOT FIX at the underpass on Africa Avenue. It was very inspiring to team up with the workers of The Ugly Indian who are the pioneers of this movement. Our volunteers this time were Gaurav Prasad, Sanjeet Rawat, Karan Sidhy of class 11 and Tushar sir.

Several children of NDMC schools were also a part of this project and Secretary, NDMC was present to motivate the children. The spot had been vandalised with posters so, to start with, we scraped off the posters, before washing the walls and touching up the paint. This time however, with the expert inputs of the Ugly Indian volunteers, we were able to quickly beautify the spot with some colourful asymmetrical patterns.
The children wore their aprons, gloves and masks and divided the work amongst themselves. After two hours of hard labour we wrapped up for the day. It was an invaluable experience to be a part of a larger group who are themselves pioneers of a great mission.
