Summer excursion to Ranikhet for classes 10 and 12

From the 30th May to 3rd June 2023, a captivating summer excursion to Camp Majkhali, Ranikhet was organised for the students of classes 10 and 12. 86 students and teachers embarked on this remarkable journey.

On the evening of the 30th May, the group congregated at School, eagerly awaiting the adventure that lay ahead. At 9 pm the bus departed for Ranikhet. The following morning, the bus reached Kathgodam, where the group transferred to smaller vehicles for its onward journey to Ranikhet.

The first day was brimming with exhilarating navigation exercises and invigorating team-building activities, all conducted in groups. The navigation activities entailed utilising compasses and maps to reach designated points. Meanwhile, the team-building exercises tested the participants' coordination abilities and also the levels of cooperation with peers.

On the subsequent day, the students embarked on a picturesque 4-kilometre trek to the Chamu Mandir, a temple dedicated to a local deity. After a satiating lunch, the students received instruction in wilderness survival skills, including constructing makeshift shelters in the midst of nature. Additionally, they indulged in the thrill of ziplining. As night fell, the students and teachers unwound amidst the warmth of a bonfire, accompanied by lively music.

The following morning, the students proceeded to Nainital in small vehicles. They visited the renowned Naina Devi Mandir and immersed themselves in the vibrant atmosphere of Mall Road, indulging in shopping and exploration. Subsequently, they made their way back to Kathgodam, where, after a delightful dinner, they boarded the bus for Delhi. The group arrived in Delhi early the next morning, filled with memories and experiences to cherish.

The trip was a great success, surpassing all expectations. Its purpose was to provide students with an immersive and enlightening experience, allowing them to delve into the marvels of nature, gain insights into local culture and history, and forge enduring bonds of camaraderie with peers. Undoubtedly, it accomplished these objectives with aplomb.
