Three Fashion Studies' students from class 11 were selected for Summer Internship at Belezza Deisgn Studio. We assembled at the Studio accompanied by Rachna ma'am. There we were introduced to the activity and the work being done. We were also asked about oursubject (Fashion Studies) and what our interpretation of it is. We then visited the 'adda' where the karigars work.
DAY: 2 We were asked to do some research on designs. We were told to bring some photos of designs that inspired us. We were to to decide what colours we would like to put into our designs. We were then set to dress a model each on paper in dresses with the designs which could be
i) Falak -Mirror work
ii) Vedika Sequence
iii) Sabhyata -Latkan and Jaali work
[gallery columns="2"]DAY: 3 We were introduced to the karigars and how do they do their work. We were asked to trace our designs and to get them machine- embroidered. We chose colours for the designs and after getting our samples of embroidery ready we proceeded to get them created.
DAY: 4 We went to the adda and started our work of the samples. As soon as the work was done, we were ready for our presentations with all the samples and the sketches we had done.
The experience was truly heady and we felt a huge sense of accomplishment!
