During the summer vacations, two of us, Jasmine Wadhwa and Akshat Chowdhary, students of class XI, were fortunate to visit four factories of the DS Group, the well-known corporate group headquartered at Noida, famous for manufacturing spices, pan masala, mineral water and colas. Our teacher, Ms. Rukimini Thampi accompanied us on the first day. We were shown the Catch factory known for producing a variety of spices. We saw the making of different types of masalas and also the world class machinery and technology used in the manufacturing process. On Day Two, we visited the famous Rajnigandha factory known for its trademark brand Rajnigandha pan masala and cardamom. On the same day we also went to the Poze factory which makes garments. We hot a hands-on experience of how shirts and trousers are manufactured. On Day Three i.e. our last day we were taken to the 'Canpac' factory, which produces containers for packaging of the several brands of DS Group like, Catch , Baba, etc. It was truly an enriching experience for us who saw firsthand manufacturing processes of some very successful products.
