On 10th July 2026, our School had the privilege of hosting Mr Anand Sharma, President of the Indian Meteorological Society, for an informative and inspiring awareness session on environmental conservation and weather hazards for classes 7-9.
The programme began with a warm welcome by our School as Vice Principal, Dr Anu Singh presented Mr Sharma with a potted plant from the School nursery and some handcrafted candles, lovingly prepared by the students.
In his address, Mr Sharma spoke about the importance of protecting our environment and highlighted several pressing environmental issues. He explained the causes and effects of heat waves and discussed the El Niño phenomenon, describing how it influences weather patterns and can lead to extreme climatic conditions. He also spoke about earthquakes, creating awareness about their causes and the importance of preparedness during natural disasters.
Emphasising the need for environmental conservation, Mr Sharma encouraged students to plant more trees, reduce pollution, and adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives. He stressed that every individual has a responsibility to protect nature and contribute towards a greener and safer future.
The session was highly informative, engaging, and thought-provoking. It inspired students to become more environmentally conscious and better prepared for natural hazards. The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to Mr Anand Sharma for sharing his valuable knowledge and experiences.
