Talk on Big Data, Data Science for CS students

On 14 August 2019, the students of computer science of classes XI and XII attended a session by Piyush Nanwani, an alumnus of our school, who is currently pursuing a B.Tech. from IP University.

Piyush began by explaining what Data Science really means- an upcoming field which uses scientific methods to extract information, patterns and trends. He then explained the term Big Data, its forms structured and unstructured and its social ramifications using real time examples. Further, he discussed Hadoop open source software utilities that use a network of multiple computers to solve problems involving massive amounts of data and then analyse the same.
