TCS IT Wiz, India's biggest IT quiz for schools was started in 1999, for students of classes 8 to 12. IT plays an integral role in today's society and economy and is a key enabler for success in diverse fields. The Quiz strives to enhance IT awareness among students, keeping them abreast of the latest developments in field. In fact the TCS IT Quiz platform works as an effectively to supplement the computer science and IT curricula being taught at School, as most of the questions researched for the quiz are beyond immediate CBSE academic areas, compelling students to look beyond their text books.

Today the TCS IT Wiz has become a national benchmark in the inter-school quizzing circuit for the level of research, the intensity with which teams compete and the participation it draws. The quiz has received immense patronage among the student community, teachers, parents and educational institutions and has become a part of the agenda for schools across the country.

There were around 600 students participating in the quiz this year. The Indian School participated with 3 teams: Team 1 Shlok Tyagi and Sahil Grover (Class XII) Team 2 Divyanshu Panwar and Prakhar Gupta (Class XI) Team 3 Yash Lamba and Samarth Saxena (Class IX)

TCS IT Wiz was hosted by noted quizmaster Giri Balasubramaniam. Known for his distinctive style of quizzing, Giri's sense of humour and approachable nature has earned him accolades. At this event too, he kept the participants and audience on the edge. It was, indeed, an exhilarating experience.

The preliminary round consisted of a common set of 20 questions for all teams. The questions were oral, visual and audiovisual. Some of the questions were Which mobile app has the tag line Chalo Niklo? Which programming language belongs to Sun Microsystems? Which word is formed by combining picture and element? Give the technological term which means error and was used by Albert Einstein while conducting his experiments.

Indeed it was an exercise of ' edutainment'.
