TCS IT Wiz 2016

TCS IT Wiz, Indias biggest IT quiz for schools was started in 1999, for students of classes 8 to 12. IT plays an integral role in todays society and economy and is a key enabler for success in diverse fields. The Quiz strives to enhance IT awareness among students, keeping them abreast of the latest developments in the field. In fact, the TCS IT Quiz platform works as an effective tool and supplements the computer science and IT curriculum being taught at school, as most of the questions researched for the quiz are beyond the immediate CBSE academic areas, compelling students to look beyond their text books.

The contest was hosted by Pickbrian, eminent quizmaster and member of Tata Consultancy Services. It commenced on 12th November 2016 at IIT, Delhi. Around 500 teams of two students each contested for the preliminary round, a round of 20 questions which tested the participants on their knowledge of IT, gaming, famous people, companies, smart phones and other technical fields. The questions were oral, visual and audiovisual. Some of the questions were

Only 6 teams qualified for the finals, an onstage show held on the same day. The final round comprised of 5 rounds. The finalists were asked questions on the themes: history, production, start-ups, domain and technology.
