Teacher workshop in Business Studies

A workshop on Effective And Efficient Teaching was held on 31 July 2018 at Andhra Educational Society School. Mr. G.S.Alag (writer), Mr. Amit Arora and Mr. Kunal Arora were the resource persons.

The workshop focused on certain major changes in the business studies curriculum for class XI and the addition of the topic Demonetization in class XII.

The speakers discussed topics that were recently added to the curriculum and also suggested ways to teach the difficult topics in easier and more engaging ways. They analysed various case studies and laid stress upon the importance of each of these. The common mistakes made by the students were also discussed. Mr. Alag, listed the challenges faced by the teachers while teaching the subject in a class room.

There was a discussion on the layout of the question paper and the project work done by the students. Tambola, Crossword , unscrambling the words etc. are innovative props that can be introduced to sustain the interest of students in the subject. The speakers emphasised that teachers need to be creative and bring in new ideas to make teaching more interesting. Some of the tools suggested by them for ensuring the same were: search the word from the grid, preparing acronyms, creating our own case studies etc.

It was an enriching workshop that helped us to plan adding novelty in our teaching methods.
