The 6th Dr Amidas Goradia Badminton annual intra school Tournament

Our School organised the 6th Jr Amidas Goradia Badminton Tournament 2023-24, an annual intra-school sports event, from 17 to 22 May 2023, with an aim to showcase the students' talent at badminton. Vice Principal Dr Anu Singh and Head Teacher, Primary Wing Ms Vandana Tiwari cut the ceremonial ribbon to inaugurate the intra-school sporting event. The competition included five categories: girls singles, boys singles, girls doubles, boys doubles, and mixed doubles.

On the first day, 17 May, two categories were held: the girls' singles and boys' doubles. The tournament began with the exciting girls' singles and continued with the thrilling boys' doubles. The second day, 18 May, witnessed an overwhelming participation in the boys' singles category, where the participants showcased their skill and determination. On 20 May, the third day of the tournament, the finals for the two categories were held: mixed doubles and girls' doubles.

The matches were intense and displayed a remarkable level of teamwork and strategy. The final day, 22 May, featured the semi-finals and finals of the boys' singles category. The players exhibited their exceptional ability and fought fiercely for the coveted title.

The spectators witnessed the shuttlecock whoosh breezily from one end of the court to the other in a rally of overheads, clears, drop shots and powerful smashes! The tournament concluded with a closing ceremony. The ceremony included the much-anticipated prize distribution, with medals and certificates presented to the winners by Vice Principal Dr Anu Singh.

The tournament was marked by an enthralling spirit of competitiveness and camaraderie among the participants. The success of the event was attributed to the dedicated efforts of the sports department, which ensured its smooth execution.

Winner: Ancika Worchui and Irtiza Masoodi First Runners Up: Jigisha and Peehu Second Runners Up: Soumya Kashyap and Aavya Sarna

Boys Doubles:

Winner: Divyansh Kandwal and Abhav Bhardwaj First Runners Up: Tanmay Virmani and Shivansh Kapoor Second Runners Up: Pratham Chitkara and Naman Shandilya

Mixed Doubles:

Winner: Pratham Chitkara and Raabhya Dawar First Runners Up: Arnav Anand and Parul Nagpal Second Runners Up: Ancika Worchui and Arnavjeet Singh
