Top honour in inter school Hindi and Sanskrit competition
A team of talented students of The Indian School took part in an online Hindi and Sanskrit inter-school competition organised by Gyan Bharti School in April 2021. However, due to the pandemic- prompted lockdown, the results were declared only on 3 July 2021 in a virtual prize-giving ceremony.
The theme of the competition was Srijan Sangam ( ). The entries were pre recorded and submitted online to the host school on 20 April.
The Hindi competition had invited participation in two categories- Kavita Path for classes 6-8 and Hindi Bhashan Pratiyogita for classes 9-10.
Niyati Khurana of class IX did our School proud by securing the First Position in the Hindi Speech competition. Her speech entry on the topic of 'Buzurg Hamari Dharohar' received much applause.
Aarush Kumar of class VII represented our School in the Kavita Path category. He recited Khooni Hastakshar, a patriotic poem by renowned Hindi poet, Shri Gopal Prasad Vyas.
The Sanskrit Shlok Vaachan category attracted the recitation of Neeti shlokas by classes 4-5. Our Aryan Singh of class 5 ably contested in this category.
The second category witnessed the rendition of shlokas from the Shrimad Bhagwad Geeta by participants from classes 6-8.
Upasana Khatua of class VII competed in the Shlok Gaayan competition. The young, mellifluous voices chanting the ancient texts captivated the audience.
The other eminent schools that participated in the two competitions were Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan, Tagore International School, East Of Kailash, Mount Carmel, Anand Niketan, Indraprasth World School, Tagore International School, Vasant Vihar, Amity International School, Saket, to list a few.
Mr Amulya Shukla, motivational speaker, graced the occasion as chief guest. He congratulated all the participants for their praiseworthy endeavours.
The students enjoyed participating in this competition and were inspired to further hone their oratorical skills in Hindi and Sanskrit.
