Top Honours at inter school art cum literary conclave

Students of The Indian School were invited to participate in the 7th Edition of the Annual Literary Conclave – Manthan 2023, an online event, hosted by Birla Divya Jyoti School, Siliguri, on 6 and 7 November. The conclave was organised to celebrate art and literature on a common platform and its convergence with different disciplines in the wonderful ambit of critical literary ideation.

This year, MANTHAN was dedicated to the 175th birth commemoration of the renowned painter, Raja Ravi Varma.

The categories in the framework of this conclave were:
1. Polity – Multi Format Debate in English
2. English Experimental Short Radio Play and Dramatised Reading Enactment
3. English Creative Writing
4. Whirl: Dance and Yoga Duologue
5. Visual Art Installation

Our team of 11 students, competed with students from various prestigious schools on the national level and won accolades for themselves and the institution. Some of the participating schools were – Mayo College Girls School Ajmer, Sunbeam Varanasi, DAV Public School Hazaribagh, Birla Public School Ranchi, Invictus International, Amritsar, The Emerald Heights Indore, DPS Greater Noida, Birla Vidya Niketan New Delhi, and so on.

The Indian School team comprising Manan Kakkar and Ekveer Sahoo of class XII were adjudged First Runners Up in the Multi Format Debate in English.

Niyati Khurana and Aman Singh Kapoor of class XI, and Roopkatha Bandyopadhyay of class X, were awarded the First Prize in the English Experimental Short Radio Play.

Participants of the Whirl: Dance and Yoga Duologue, Kanishka Khanna Class IX, and Niyati Khurana Class XI, were the proud winners of the Second Prize. In addition, Niyati Khurana was shortlisted as Most Promising Performer.

Overall, The Indian School was declared to be the Third Joint Winner of the conclave.

The participants in the Creative Writing category were Saanvi Jawa and Astha Chaudhuri from Class X, while Shiksha Dwivedi from Class IX and Mansha Dwivedi from Class XI, were the participants for Visual Art Installation.
