Top honours at inter school commerce fest
On 1 August 2026, students of The Indian School participated in COMECO Fiesta 3.0, the Annual Commerce Fest organised by Ramjas International School, R.K. Puram. The fest, based on the theme “Ideas Meet Innovative Minds”, featured a number of commerce and creativity-based events for students of Classes XI and XII.
In Ad-Mad, Asha (XI-D), Pehal Sharma (XI-D) and Nandini Bhandari (XII-C) secured the First Position. The participants were given a topic on-the-spot and had 15–20 minutes to design an advertisement, which then had to be presented within two minutes. With such limited preparation time, the challenge was to quickly come up with an idea, divide the presentation between the team members and make the advertisement interesting enough to hold the audience attention! The team used the limited time effectively and delivered a confident and creative presentation, earning the first position.
In Packaging, Naina Upreti (XII-C) and Gurkirat Kaur (XII-C) secured the Second Position. The event required participants to design an eco-friendly package while keeping creativity, sustainability and functionality in mind. Working within the given time and turning the idea into a physical product was a challenging but rewarding part of the event. The judges appreciated the concept and its sustainable approach and even encouraged the students to take the idea forward and develop it into a real enterprise.
The Surprise Event was another competition where Anika Chawla (XI-D) and Jiya Taneja (XI-D) secured the Second Position. The event consisted of 3 different rounds, each requiring a completely different type of response. In the first round, the participants had to create and sing a song on-the-spot. The second round involved preparing and presenting an advertisement in two minutes. The final round was a stand-up comedy challenge, which also had to be performed without prior preparation. The rapidly changing nature of the rounds made the event unpredictable and required the participants to stay confident and creative throughout.
The achievements reflected the creativity, teamwork and confidence of the students and gave them an opportunity to apply their ideas and skills outside the classroom.
