Top honours at Zonal Music competition

Music proves to be an integral part of our lives and there are budding artists who make our day more beautiful using this powerful language. Hence, it becomes extremely important for us to give an opportunity to our little champs who might become the future of tomorrow.

On 11 August 2023, a music competition at the Zonal Level was held at Amity International School, Saket. 12 schools participated. Upasana Khatua of class IXB participated in the Classical Music Competition in the Senior Girls Category and presented an artistic rendition of Raga Malhaar that is said to be the raga which brings rain. She was accompanied by Pragyan Medhi of XD on the harmonium and Abhineet Singh of XD on the tabla. An electronic tanpura was also used to support her swaras. She was the first participant who threw light on the beauty of ragas like Vihaag, Bhairavi, Bhairav among many others.

Another budding artist, Samarth Sovani of class VIB, participated in the Junior Boys Classical Category and presented a piece of music in Raga Ahir Bhairav accompanied by the same able accompaniists on the harmonium and tabla along with an electronic tanpura.

The results were declared after 3 days. Samarth Sovani received the First Position whereas Upasana Khatua received the Third Position. The overall experience of the competition was mesmerising and the students got to learn a lot from the other participants.
