Trip to Sohna Farm

School organised an educational trip for the students of VII and VIII to the School Eco Park on 30th December 2015.

We reached our destination at 10:30 am. A most endearing sight of turtles, ducks and rabbits awaited us.We also sighted roosters! It was exciting to observe these animals from close. [gallery link="file"] The gardeners showed us around the beds of assorted vegetables, ready to pick. They showed us how to judge if vegetables were ready to pick. Happily we learnt to harvest sweet potato, radish, brinjals, spinach and fenugreek. The lettuce, carrot, cabbage, cauliflower, onion and garlic were not yet ready, we were told. It was a new experience to work with the vegetables patches and we all enjoyed the 'touch of nature', as it were. We carried an abundance of vegetables home. The scenic beauty of the place was something to marvel about. The Arravallis lined up on one side in the distance and the air fragrant with freshness in a landscape of tranquility felt rejuvenating. We hope we get to return soon. Classes VII & VIII.
