Visit to Bal Bhawan, classes 1 and 2.

On 30 and 31January, 2013, classes I and 2 visited Bal Bhawan. It was a great learning experience for the students. They had fun as they explored Bal Bhawan. They enjoyed the mini zoo and aviary. They learnt about the food habits of birds and their adaptations in the form of beaks and claws. They responded with statements like, " We should look after animals and birds as they are living things! " Their expression of compassion for the animals was spontaneous.

They were taken to the National Childrens Museum which is well suited to their age. The children were amazed to see toys and dolls from different countries, traditional jewellery, utensils and musical instruments, turbans from different states of India. They were attracted to the small aquariums with their colourful fish. They learnt about fish-food and about freshwater fish.

The mirror section was a big attraction for children. The mirrors are arranged in a manner to reflect funny and distorted images. No wonder the children were in splits!

The mini train was the star attraction of Bal Bhawan. The children enjoyed this ride starting from Khelgaon ( Miniature Railway Station), chugging through a tunnel, over a bridge.

After Arun-filled 2 hours at Bal Bhawan the students were escorted back to their buses and served a picnic snack.
