Visit to the Delhi Book Fair 2014, classes 8 and. 9.
Imagine stepping into a room and all the stories you've ever read coming true. Solving crimes with Sherlock Holmes, slaying dragons with brave knights and an insight into the world of an Indian village.... so many stories in just one place. That is what 32 students of classes VIII and IX of our School experienced when they visited the Delhi Book Fair 2014 at Pragati Maidan on 29th August, 2014.The students were accompanied by their teachers, Ms. Navreet Shergill and Ms. Sapna Khosla.
The Delhi Book Fair 2014 in its 20th year, comprised of stalls spread over 4 halls. Large publishers like Oxford University Press, Harper Collins, Scholastic and Random House had large stalls displaying all genres of books in management, humanities, fiction, non-fiction, educational and books for children.

The students enjoyed browsing through the vast book displays in these stalls. They also enjoyed the displays of smaller outlets like the Om Book Shop, S. Chand and Co, 4PB Publishers etc. These stalls sold books at special prices of Rs 100/- for three titles in fiction or Rs 50/- for a single book. Students enjoyed purchasing their favourite titles at discounted prices while teachers purchased reference books for the School library. We relished being surrounded by so many books and the feeling of exhilaration as we tried trying to catch a glimpse of every book was unparalleled.
And even after three hours of scouting for the right books, we were very reluctant to return. We simply felt we needed to see so much more!
