Webinar for class 8 on World Health Day
The Indian School organised a special webinar on the occasion of World Health Day on 7 April 2021 for the students of class 8. Dr Sumit Munjal, Professor, Department of Periodontists at the Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Uttar Pradesh, hosted the webinar.
In his address, Dr Munjal shared trivia about the history of World Health Day. He told the students that the aim of observing the special day is to raise awareness about overall health and well-being amongst people across the globe. He spoke about the various themes adopted every year to promote healthy living amongst people. This year, the theme chosen is- "Building a fairer, healthier world".
Dr Munjal cautioned his young audience about activities that could prevent the youth from leading a healthy life. He listed some of them as below.
regular consumption of fast food
sleeping late
taking too much stress
not engaging in physical activities
The session emphasized the importance of a healthy lifestyle and adopting the following healthy habits.
eat healthy meals
adding more fruit and vegetables to the daily diet
drinking plenty of water
exercising regularly
washing hands before eating
getting enough sleep
practicing meditation
avoiding caffeine, soda, and sugary drinks.
The session was informative and welcomed by the students as in these challenging times of Covid-19, a renewed focus on health is paramount.
