A webinar was conducted by Times NIE in association with IMS on Law as a Career. The webinar was held n 31 August 2020 at 2 pm on Zoom and was attended by students of Humanities and Commerce in classes 11 and 12.
The session was conducted by Mr Siddharth Singhal, Senior Faculty at IMS. He began the session by sharing that very little information was handy on Law as a career option. He said that it is due to a lack of information or inaccurate information, that students do not readily prefer to choose the subject as a career option.
The speaker elucidatedthe various career choices available after studying law and the eligibility criteria therein. Hesuggested names of universities in India where one can qpursue Law and also explained the format of the entrance exams. He shared tips on how to prepare for these while discussing the weightage of each section.
Mr Singhal emphasised the fact that one must possess good communication skills and logical thinking to excel in the field. He then advised the listeners to develop the habit of reading and keep themselves updated about current affairs. Heexplained the need to start preparation whilst still in school,so that students stand a higher chanceof securing admission in good colleges. Mr Singhal discussed remuneration and placements in both the government and private sectors.
The session helped students acquire important information on the prospects of Law.Mr Singhal ended the session by addressing student queries.
