Work Education at School

Education forms an important part in our lives. But education should not only be limited to books. There is lots more to it. Our School believes that education must not be excessively theoretical but simultaneously offer students a hand-on experience too. It believes in exposing children to various platforms of their own interest. Keeping this in mind School gives equal priority to co-curricular activities. It allots a certain number of periods for this every working Saturday. There are various hobbies held which include Aerobics, Art, Calligraphy, Campus Management, Life Skills, Debating, Dramatics, Gardening, Meal planning, Yoga, Western Music, International Music (violin), Web designing, Maths Club, Rangoli etc. Role play to teach aggression management, learning of the 3D font, storytelling for classroom management, debate on whether the death penalty should be abolished etc. are some interesting aspects covered during these classes.

The dramatics club offers us a chance to express ourselves using acting; debate helps us to increase our knowledge and offers us a free platform to express our own viewpoints without anyone being judgemental about what is right and wrong. The health club, yoga and activities like hoopla, sports, aerobics the students remain physically fit. Besides building basic team spirit. Meal planning allows us to try our hands at various flavours. Calligraphy and art helps us bring out our creativity. Life skills and wellness helps us analyse moral behaviours and teaches what is ethically right and wrong. Those particularly interested in solving puzzles have the Rubik Cube club! To increase sensitivity towards waste management, a club for paper-recycling is also included. It teaches the value of paper by engaging them in the fun-filled procedure for recycling paper. All these help in the all-round development of us, students. Mind-boggling creativities abound as each one ends up identifying his/her 'call'. Aayushi Mittal, XI-C.
