Workshop on Learning Objectives

Our care of the child should be governed not by the desire to make him learn things but by the endeavour always to keep burning with in him that light which is called intelligence."

Maria Montessori

The Pre-primary Department of our School attended a workshop on learningobjectives by Ms. Shweta Talwar, an English language facilitator on Saturday, 4th February 2017 in the School Audio Visual Room.

Ms. Talwar has wide experience as both a teacher and a trainer. She also holds a Cambridge Certificate which enables her to teach English to non-speakers of the language.

A perfect day with a perfect set up and teachers as enthusiastic learners, made the workshop interesting from the very beginning. The teachers sat in groups of 4 for effective interaction.

Ms. Talwar focused on the importance of early childhood learning. She introduced the six levels of learning as listed by Benjamin Bloom. The workshop helped in clarifying doubts relating to these objectives. She also introduced the concept of SMART objectives (specific, measurable, attainable, result-oriented and time bound), to make it easier for teachers to plan their lessons. Ideas and ways to perfect our lesson plans were also explained with suitable examples pertaining to our needs. The already known facts were revised and refined for implementation in our day to day teaching.

The workshop was truly an interactive one with 100% participation. A useful session, indeed!
