The Zonal Badminton matches took place at the Chhatrasal Stadium from 5 August, 2013. Six teams participated in these matches from our School in various categories. The Sub- Junior girls were selected at trials and they brought big laurels by getting named the Zonal Winners this year! They played their first round match against Summer Fields School and defeated them in both singles and doubles in straight sets.
The second round was played with Delhi Public School, Mathura Road and the girls repeated the performance as they did earlier, in their first round encounter, winning in straight sets.
The semi-final was against Air Force Bal Bharti which is considered a tough team to play but our girls, Sharanya, Ridhima Gauba, Mirambika and Prachi Luthra of led by their captain Riya Khatri of class 8 were undeterred and stormed into the final to play against Oxford School.
The final was a magnificent display by both team and our girls were well- prepared. They offered a fitting fight to lift the gold in both singles and doubles. Congrats to our champs!
