The Inter- School Zonal Basket ball matches 2013-14 commenced at our School for the third consecutive year. This year the schedule of the matches is a bit different as compared with previous years. On day 1 of the competition all-Girl matches were played in all the three categories, namely, Sub Junior, Junior and Senior.
8 schools are participating in this competition and are competing against each other to win the crown of Zone Champion across the various categories. Game 1 of the tournament was played between the host, our School and The Oxford School. The match was inaugurated by Ms.Tania Joshi, Principal, The Indian School wishing luck to both teams. [gallery columns="2"] The teams looked equally balanced at the start but as the game progressed the host school stole the show with an exciting display of dribbling, passing and shooting, to eventually clinch the match with a score of 20-0 at close! Game 2 was to be played between our School, Senior girls and The Banyan Tree School. Regrettably the team of the latter did not report and a walk- over was awarded to the host. A total of 12 games took place and the girls were fighting the heat and humidity out in the court to be triumphant.The teams who won their First round matches advanced to the second round, scheduled for 4 September. The third match for the hosts was of Sub- Junior girls played with The Oxford School. The sub- junior girls were very determined and nailed the girls of their opponents to win the match by a margin of 20-0! The host team made it's own day, winning as they did, all their inaugural matches and advancing to the next round of the competition. Report compiled by Mr. Ashish Ahuja.
