A Visit to the Dolls Museum, Class 2.

Students of Class 2 accompanied by their class teachers went for an excursion to the Shankars Dolls' Museum at Connaught place on 26 July, 2013. A veritable dreamland for the children, it has 6000 dolls of different shapes, sizes, colours from 85 countries on display under one roof.

The first segment has European dolls followed by Latin America. Each section showcased costumes, dance, musical instruments etc. of the different parts of the globe. Our School theme being Latin America, the children from all the sections got particularly animated spotting enthusiasm dolls from their "adopted countries", namely, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Uruguay!

We also saw displays of episodes from history like the Dandi March, scenes from Indian mythology like the raas leela etc.

We returned to School by 11.30 am and after a refreshing snack, the children wasted no time in getting to work, reproducing the scenes they saw, lovingly on drawing sheets. So that they would always remember as also show the other classes who had not yet been to the museum.
