On 19 July 2024, our School hosted an engaging and insightful career counselling session featuring two accomplished graduates, Ms Avanti Goradia Divan from Princeton University and Ms Caroline from Yale University. Both speakers generously shared their academic journeys and provided valuable advice for navigating the college landscape overseas. The event was attended by students of IX, X, and XI standards, who demonstrated great enthusiasm and curiosity throughout the session.

The workshop went beyond traditional academics, introducing students to the "fun corners" of these prestigious universities and emphasising the importance of extracurricular activities in creating a well-rounded college experience. From social engagement to leadership opportunities, the session highlighted the diverse experiences these institutions offer. A significant focus was placed on the importance of strong writing skills. Students learned how refining their writing abilities can enhance their academic performance, college applications, and future careers. The session also explored research opportunities and thesis writing, fostering critical thinking skills.

Recommendations were another crucial element, with Ms Divan and Ms Caroline stressing the importance of building relationships with mentors who can provide valuable testimonials. Moreover, the workshop underscored the significance of authenticity and kindness in shaping personal and professional lives. Students were also encouraged to embrace their individuality while cultivating a foundation of compassion for future success.

Overall, the workshop provided a positive and informative learning environment, empowering students to explore their academic and career aspirations. The guidance offered by Ms Avanti Goradia Divan and Ms Caroline not only enriched their understanding of university life but also equipped them with practical tools and strategies for achieving their goals. The session's focus on both academic and personal development inspired students to approach their future endeavours with confidence and a well-rounded perspective.
