CBSE Regional Level Science Exhibition, 29-31 August, 2013 held at our School.

The CBSE Regional Level Science Exhibition was organized by our School from 29 to 31 August, 2013.The exhibition saw the participation of 86 schools of Delhi/ NCR exhibiting 134 projects/models. It was inaugurated by Dr. Sadhana Parashar , Director of Academics, Research ,Training and Innovation, CBSE. She was highly appreciative of the presentations and profusely congratulated the participants.

Under the umbrella-theme, SCIENCE & SOCIETY the exhibits by the different schools were eye-openers on their diverse sub- themes, namely, Natural Resources and their Conservation; Transport and Communication; Industry; Mathematical Modelling; Information and Educational Technology and Community Health and Environment.

The purpose of this mega event is to develop a scientific temper in the young generation of our country and to ingrain in them the interdependence of science, technology and society. The exhibition was able to provide a common platform to teachers and students to give shape to novel and innovative ideas as also to learn from each others experiences. Creativity came out tops with the children comfortably constructing novel and economic solutions to ordinary problems.

The judges were Professor Sanjiv Sanghi, IIT Delhi; Dr. Indrakant Singh, Associate Professor, Delhi University; Dr. Arijit Dey, Scientist in the Ministry of Water Resources; Dr. Vinayak Naik, IIIT Delhi, Prof. Subhasis Majhi, Professor IGNOU and Mrs. Nita Rastogi, Principal, Sadhu Vaswani School.

The valedictory function was held on 31 August and our chief guest for the ceremony was enthusiastic educationist, Mr. Premchand Palety, co- founder and Chief Executive of the Centre for Forecasting & Research ( C-Fore), a multidisciplinary research organisation . Mr. Palety emphasized the need for passion for doing new things at all levels of education system.

Principal, Mrs.Tania Joshi announced the list of the best 19 exhibits and these were presented with merit certificates even as they were elevated as eligible for competing at the National level of the Exhibition. She also offered a vote of thanks for the contribution of this large community of schools in the attempt to instil the invaluable connectivity between Science and Society.
