Citizenship Programme: Visit to Palna Shishu Kendra at Dakshinpuri Centre.

Kindness is the language which the dead can hear and the blind can see'.

Adhering to this quote, 4 students of class 10 had the privilege of going to Delhi Bal Vikas Samiti, a branch of Palna at Dakshinpuri on Saturday, 30 July, 2016.

What a delightful experience it was for the four of us :- Sirjan, Jasnoor, Harshita and Aryaman to spend time with the little enthusiastic kids of the centre. We were accompanied by Ms. Sangeeta Aswani and Ms. Nausheen.

Upon reaching, we all were greeted with the smiling faces of the little children who were dropped off at the day care centre by their working parents. To break the ice we offered them toffees and chocolates and introduced ourselves.

Then we started a session of activities which included introducing the children to the different types shapes, fruit. We also recited rhymes that they were familiar with. They seemed so happy and cheerful.

We then moved on to a fun session of playing some simple games. In order to lend some educational values too, we told them about good manners, cleanliness and hygiene. The children were very interactive and enthusiastic. They were very keen to learn and quick to repeat what was being taught. On that note, we had a quick revision session and prepared to leave but not before taking some group photos. All of them felt so happy on spending time with us, and repeatedly asked us to come back soon!

We had carried some books from our Scshool library which we gifted to the centre along with some biscuits and muffins. In return, we took back with us a bagful of wonderful and enriching memories. On behalf of my friends, I would like to thank Ms. Aswani for giving us such a precious opportunity. We look forward to spending more time with the children again in the near future.
