Class 7 visits the School eco park

On the cool morning of December 21, 2023, the enthusiasm of 50 students of class VII filled the brisk winter air as we embarked on an educational journey to the School eco park. The students were accompanied by Ms Mirudula and Ms P. Yogeshwari and the day promised to be a blend of nature, science, and hands’-on learning.

As the bus approached the park, the scenic lush greenery welcomed the group. The diverse array of flora and fauna immediately caught its attention, showcasing nature’s bounty. The park offered a holistic experience, allowing the city children to observe how vegetablea are grown. A particularly fascinating sight was the mali in action, diligently loosening and turning the soil, providing students with insights into how the young plants are tended.

The highlight of the visit was picking the ready produce. Vegetables, such as carrots, brinjals, mustard leaves, radish and more. Engaging in this hands’-on experience connected the students to the earth, fostering an appreciation of the origins of their food. The aroma of the freshly picked produce heightened the sensory experience.

Moving on, the students explored the science park. There, they were introduced to intriguing exhibits, including life sized models depicting the structure of a crystal, Newton’s Disk, optical illusions and musical tubes. Their Physics teacher enlightened them with explanations, unraveling the scientific mysteries of each model. It was a captivating blend of education and entertainment.

The abundance of fresh, organic vegetables added a delightful touch to their visit. The day concluded with a reflective writing session, where the students penned down essays and poems encapsulating their experience at the eco park. The exercise allowed them to express their newfound understanding of the synergy between science and nature. In the end, each student carried home a bag of chemical-free, organic vegetables—a tangible reminder of the sustainable practices they witnessed.

Boarding the bus with a sense of fulfillment, the eco park trip left an indelible mark on the minds of the city dwellers. It was not just an outing but a profound learning experience, fostering a deeper connection with the natural world and igniting their curiosity about the wonders of science.
