Class 7 visits the World Book Fair
To foster a love for reading and expose students to the vast world of literature, The Indian School, organised an enriching educational visit to the World Book Fair at Pragati Maidan for the students of Class 7, on 6 February, 2025. This visit was designed to ignite curiosity and inspire the young minds, offering them a unique opportunity to explore an extensive and diverse collection of books.
The journey began with eager anticipation as students made their way from School to Pragati Maidan. Upon entering the venue, they were immediately captivated by the sheer scale and variety of books on display. The fair was a treasure trove, showcasing a vast array of genres, including classic literature, regional works, fiction, non-fiction and an assortment of storybooks. It felt like a literary paradise, offering everything from timeless classics to contemporary works, all under one roof. The presence of renowned authors and global publishers added to the excitement.
92 students participated in the visit, and each one eagerly immersed himself and herself in the experience. Students wandered from stall to stall, flipping through the pages of books filled with adventure, knowledge and imagination. They engaged with booksellers, sought advice, and even purchased books for personal study, research or leisure reading. The enthusiasm was palpable, and many students found books that deeply resonated with their individual interests, fuelling their passion for reading and learning.
On the journey back to School, the excitement continued to buzz among the students. Conversations overflowed with enthusiasm as they shared the books they had discovered, exchanged recommendations, and discussed the stories that had caught their attention. Their animated discussions reflected the profound impact of the visit, as the experience not only sparked their interest in literature but also inspired them to make reading an integral part of their daily lives.
