CPR training for classes 6 and 7

A CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) Awareness Session was conducted at The Indian School on 12 May 2026 for the students of Classes VI and VII in the School auditorium. The session aimed to educate young learners about the importance of first aid and life-saving techniques during emergencies.

The programme commenced with a PowerPoint presentation by the students of Class XI — Mahak Mahto, Shivansh Kapoor, Sonakshi Yadav, Purav Ahuja and Prabhav Kemani. The presentation explained the meaning and significance of CPR, situations in which it may be required, and the basic steps to be followed while assisting an unconscious person. Important safety precautions and emergency response procedures were also discussed in detail.

Following the presentation, a practical demonstration was conducted to showcase the correct method of performing CPR in emergency situations. Students were taught how to check for responsiveness, seek immediate medical assistance, and administer chest compressions effectively. The demonstrators also highlighted the importance of maintaining the correct rhythm and pressure while performing CPR.

To make the session interactive and engaging, students of Classes VI and VII were invited to participate in a hands'-on activity. Under proper guidance, they practised the steps involved in CPR and learned how to respond calmly and confidently in emergencies.

The session proved to be highly informative and beneficial for all participants. It provided students with valuable knowledge about first aid, emergency preparedness, and essential life-saving skills. Such initiatives help foster awareness, confidence, responsibility, and readiness among young learners.
