'Hepatitis Awareness Day activities

Our School observed the 23rd Hepatitis Day on Friday, 4 December 2020. The day is celebrated every year to create awareness in the community at large, especially school children and high-risk groups, about hygiene, safe water supply, safe and screened blood transfusions and vaccination to prevent hepatitis.

Six students of classes VI to VIII participated in an e-poster making competition organised by the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) on the topic- Viral Hepatitis in Covid Times. Twelve students of class VIII participated in a Virtual Skit competition on the theme - In Covid Times, Remember to Prevent and Treat Viral Hepatitis. Both the competitions aimed at disseminating information about the significance of preventive measures for hepatitis.

In addition, a web lecture- Liver health in COVID times was also organised by ILBS to promote active participation of school students. The parents and students of class IX attended a lecture by Dr. S.K. Sarin, Director ILBS.

Dr Sarin urgdd the students to earn their health and urged them to take a pledge to keep their livers healthy. He insisted that the students educate others about hepatitis. A presentation on Viral Hepatitis in Covid Times was also shown by Drz Sarin, Ekta Gupta and Manoj Sharma of ILBS.

The lecture was informative and enriching. It created awareness among students and parents about keeping the liver healthy and ways to protect it.
