Honours at FORCE FEST 2018- inter school computer symposium

Apeejay School, Sheikh Sarai hosted Force Fest 2018, an inter-school computer symposium, on 30 and 31 August, 2018. The symposium commenced with a welcome address by the school Principal. It was attended by almost 25 schools of Delhi and NCR. Students participated in various events like Programming, Quiz, Digital Imaging and Fancy Dress. There was also a surprise event planned for participants.

The details of the events are as follows:

Day 1:

1. Surprise Event: Kartik Anand of class XI participated in this event. The first round was a quiz round. The participants had to write answers to the questions given to them. In the second round questions were asked in the form of riddles. The first five teams to answer correctly qualified for the finals. In the final round the participants had to play a game called Upheads. Kartik Anand secured the first position in this event.

2. Exaction (Quiz) Sahil Chugh of class XII and Darsh Kumar of class XI participated in this event. Each team comprised 2 participants. After the preliminary round which was an MCQ round, the top 6 teams qualified for the final round. The duration of the final round was 90 minutes. The final round was further divided into three rounds.

3. Code War (Programming):: Gitansh Satija and Aansh Kumar of class XII participated in this programming event which required the use of coding with the help of softwares such as Sublime Text 3, C++ and Codeblocks The event was held in the senior domain and the duration was 90 minutes. The top 10 teams qualified for the finals after the preliminary round.

4. A/V Editing: Ibrahim and Chaitanyaa Chopra of class XI participated in this visual and audio event where the participants created a video using softwares such as Adobe master suite CS 6 and Sony Vegas. The time allotted was 90 minutes. A video footage was provided to the participants which had to be edited on the spot.

5. Color Switch (PaintBrush): MS Paint was the medium used in this challenge. Arush Kumar of class V participated in this category and had to submit a painting using lines and colours. Participants had to create any movie poster within 60 minutes of time.

6. Raiment (Fancy Dress): In this event Shiven Menon of class III took part. The participants were expected to dress like any computer virus and had to describe its features. Shiven dressed as the Trojon Horse Virus and recited a poem on it.

Day 2

1. Impress (Digital Imaging) :Chaitanyaa Chopra of class XI participated in the event. The participants were expected to create a poster for FIFA 2019 using In Design and Photoshop within a time frame of 90 minutes.

2. Warzone (Gaming Console): Ranveer Bhalla of class XII participated in this fun and challenging gaming event where peripherals such as xlect controllers, a gaming pad and headphones were allowed. Ranveer secured the third position in this event.
