Students of classes 8 to 10 got the opportunity to attend a two day in-house workshop conducted by Mr. Parnab Mukherjee on 29 and 30 January, 2018 at School. The workshop intended to develop debating, quizzing and creative writing skills amongst the students.
On the first day, Mr. Mukherjee named some of the important periods of the 20th century which had a significant influence on India and the world. We also discussed how to structure our speeches and make them impactful. Some motions like Centre and State elections should be held at the same time and The new Kashmir is Bhutan were also discussed.
On the second day, we were given a motion, This house believes that India should have 5 more states. The attempt was to try out the new speech structure. Some reading references were also suggested by Mr. Mukherjee can help us with inputs and also generally extend our knowledge base. Many topics of contemporary importance were also discussed.
The workshop was a very enriching and informative experience.
