Janamashtami marks the birth of Lord Krishna. It is one of the most significant festivals celebrated with much joy and enthusiasm across India.
On this joyful occasion, the pre-primary classes at The Indian School celebrated Janmashtami in an online assembly with their usual enthusiasm on 10 August 2020. The pandemic lockdown has created variant opportunities for showcasing ones creativities virtually.
The pre-primary teachers shared enchanting tales about Lord Krishna that included anecdotes on His love for butter, his life long friendship with Sudama, playing the flute, etcetera. The little ones enjoyed watching the story clip Krishna and the Magic Pot, which showed Krishnas bid to to break the matki of butter.

The highly entertaining clip was followed by a quick round of questions like, ' What lay in the pot?' ' How did Krishna lay his hands on the pot?' The prompt and animated answers bore testimony to the young viewers alert, attentive minds and comprehension skills.
Next, the enthused class engaged in a tearing and pasting paper activity on self-drawn pots. The collective collage of individual screens converted the virtual classroom to a great vibrant canvas. To keep the joyous festive spirit alive, the children were encouraged to celebrate the festival with their families. They were told about the universal values that are a part of the occasion. The values of friendship and life skills.
The soulful rendition of Chotti Chotti Gayian with simulating actions was engaging. The children looked adorable in their self-designed headgears with peacock feathers.
It was a fun-filled edutaining morning.
