Math Quest- inter-school competition

On 28th August, 7 students of classes 3 to 12 represented our School at an inter-school competition, Dr. Stya Paul Memorial Mathematics Quest, 2014, a mathematics' competition hosted by Apeejay School, Saket. The event saw enthusiastic participation from 18 schools of Delhi and NCR. The chief guest for the event was Dr. A.K. Wazalwar, Head of Department of Education for Science and Mathematics. The competition was organised in the following areas. -Model Making - Maths Extempore - Fastest Fingers First ( abacus) -Maths Quiz - Sudoku Gitansh Satija and Siddhant Bist of class 8 won the first prize in model making. They showcased the concept of the Pythagoras Theorem through the Fire Altars. Nyal Kakadia of class 5 reached the 3rd round of the Sudoku competition. [gallery columns="4"] This competition gave students new confidence and knowledge in the world of Mathematics, and the valuable feedback from renowned judges was a great source of encouragement. Report by Palak Aneja, XII B. In continuation of this mathematical quest, the following day witnessed the participation of Math teachers from the several schools of Delhi-NCR. The teachers were to present a paper on The Innovative Teaching and Learning of Mathematics. The event observed the presentation of diverse mathematical perspectives encompassing Primary to Senior Secondary. It was an effort to simplify teaching-learning in the most interesting ways. The event was judged by Dr. Hukum Singh and Dr. Anoop Rathore, experts in the area.
