Model Medley, A Math activity, classes 8, 9, 10

Conducted on 1, 3, 5 and 6 August, 2012, the activity created mathematical shapes in 3D by folding paper. 35minutes of fusion- learning,visualized and theoretical, was aimed at making maths friendly and wringing out the undue fear. We thus convertedsimple 2-D shapes into complex 3-D shapes quite effortlessly. The evolution of an everyday circle, to a perfect equilateral triangle and that too in a few quick and easy folding steps astonished us all.These triangles then fused beautifully and so simply to create novel wall hangings for the home. We spared no time in collecting all the models assembled and hanging them up in our Maths lab as well as in the School lobby. We could not help share the marvels we had made!
