Orientation programme for parents and students of class XI
Orientation programme for parents and students of class XI, 2014-15 , 1 March, 2014.
Exchanges between subject teachers and the students of class X over the last two months culminated in a special programme with the purpose of orienting them for class XI in the new year. This interactive session between parents, students, their teachers and the principal provided students an opportunity to register their choices of streams based upon the exchange and guidance received.
The Principal led the session, urging students to select streams according to aptitude as well as attitude, and not merely in peer or parental pressure. She urged parents and teachers to focus on the need to tread along with a positive attitude and develop strong personalities amongst the children so that they can handle success.
Dr. Anu Singh then took over to explain the prerequisites of students wanting to pursue science. She emphasized that classes XI and XII must be taken as years of specialisation rather than two more years of schooling. Ms. Pooja Bahl spoke about developing logic and rational thinking in the course of studying commerce subjects, namely, accountancy, business studies and economics. Ms. Charu Bhatnagar reinforced the fact that humanities should not be treated with prejudice as history proves that several notable personalities hailing from a social science background, have been able to motivate inspiration for millions around the globe.
