Pratah Stuti 2024 and Grandparents Day

On 1 October 2024, The Indian School hosted its annual Pratah Stuti commemorating Gandhi Jayanti, and Grandparents' Day. This heartwarming event brought together students, staff and grandparents for a meaningful morning filled with reflection, music, and powerful performances, continuing a cherished tradition at the school.

The ceremony began with a warm welcome, setting a reflective tone as students paid tribute to Gandhiji, honouring his invaluable contribution to India’s independence, his steadfast dedication to non-violence, and his fight against social injustice. The School choir enriched the ambiance with a soulful renditions of bhajans, including Raghupati Raghav, Vaishnav Jan To, Bande Mein Tha Dum, Abide with Me, and Anandaloke. The selection of these timeless devotional songs, many of which were favourites of Gandhiji, lent for a spiritually uplifting atmosphere.

A highlight of the morning was an engaging skit by the junior students, who presented the enduring tale of Gandhi’s Three Monkeys, albeit with a modern twist. The students introduced a fourth character, the “Digital Monkey”, to address the contemporary issue of misinformation in the digital age. This innovative addition underscored the classic message of “See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil” while promoting the importance of being vigilant against injustice and unethical practices in today’s world. The skit resonated deeply with the audience, reinforcing the relevance of these values in a digital era.

The event conclude with a heartfelt vote of thanks from the students, followed by a  traditional Gujarati breakfast of fafda and jalebi with masala tea, which the grandparents enjoyed immensely.

Pratah Stuti ended on a joyful and reflective note, strengthening intergenerational bonds and highlighting the enduring importance of Gandhian values, respect, and cross-generational connection.
