The Athletic Meet of the Pre-Primary department was held on 28 February 2020 on the School field. It was a day filled with fervour and exhilaration, amidst thrills and cheers. The sprawling playground bore a festive look with colourful flags and well laid tracks. It was a fun filled celebration for all the students as they participated in innovative sports that enhance the physical development and mental agility. Our special guests were our Vice-principals, Dr (Ms) Anu Singh and Ms Sukhmeen Kaur Cheema.
Dr Singh encouraged the children to keep up their spirit of participation and urged them to always try to give their best. She emphasised that it is not important to win but what matters the most is spirited participation. Ms Cheema applauded the efforts of the teachers in conducting the event and declared the Meet open.
The students entered into the spirit of the occasion. It was a delight to see the excitement with which the little ones challenged themselves to attempt a variety of relay races such as The Hoopla Race, The Ball Race, The Hurdle Race and the 50 meters Flat Race for both boys and girls.
Twenty students from each class participated in the events. The Pre-School girls participated in the Bead Garland Race whereas the boys participated in the Hurdle Race. The girls from the Pre-Primary department participated in the Hoopla Race and the boys participated in the Ball Race. A group of boys and girls from each class participated in the Relay and Flat races.
The playground reverberating with the sound of cheers added to the excitement.
The Meet ended with the teachers enthusiastically participating in the Fun Race. The proud winners of the races were felicitated with medals and every participant was awarded a certificate.
It was a day well spent, basking in the warmth of the Spring sun and witnessing the tiny tots run, jump, tumble, roll and hop!
