Special assembly for Gandhi Jayanti by class 5 E.
A eager wait of the children of class 5 E came to fruition on 3 October, 2013 when they got their chance to present a skit on Gandhiji's life and his contribution to the freedom struggle. The occasion was the Mahatma's birth anniversary.
The day began with the enthusiastic children arriving, dressed in costume and scarcely able to contain their excitement. Soon the opportunity arrived when everyone gathered in the skating rink for the special assembly.
The program started with a brief introduction on the life of Gandhiji and how his role in attaining freedom for India was pivotal. This was followed by the mention of world personalities who consider the Mahatma their role model, namely, Albert Einstein, Barack Obama, Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela.
The Dandi March, the Round Table Conference in England etc were some of the episodes enacted. The assembly saw the participation of each student of the class in one way or another and the morale of the children was further boosted when they were appreciated for their efforts by all their teachers, Ms. Maini and the children in the audience!

It had been an earnest endeavor to bring those children to the forefront, who are otherwise reserved or shy in the classroom. To our utter delight, the children executed their responsibilities in diligence and confidence. The assembly concluded with a patriotic song sung by the choir children of the class with Sanjeev Sir on the harmonium.
