Special assembly on Eid-ul-Fitr by class I-B
On Wednesday, August 7 2013, class I-B presented an assembly on Eid-ul-fitr in the auditorium with full class participation.
The assembly started with a pair of students explaining the significance of Eid-ul-fitr and how it is celebrated. This was followed by a dramatisation of the famous story, Eidgah, in which Hamid, a young boy despite having only Rs. 10 in his pocket, which he received as 'eidi' from his grand mother, abstains from buying himself a gift at the mela. Instead he spends the money to buy his dear grandma a pair of tongs so that her fingers wouldn't get burnt each time she made rotis! A touching tale of love and sacrifice which the children watched in interest as the ideas of prayer, harmony, respect, friendship got sensitively yet quietly conveyed to them. The assembly ended with the students reciting a poem on Eid.
