Summer Excursion to Nainital and Jim Corbett National Park for classes 6-9

The School organised a four-day educational excursion to Nainital and Jim Corbett National Park from 25 to 29 May 2026, for the students of classes 6-9. The trip aimed to enhance the students’ environmental awareness and offer recreational experiences amidst the natural beauty and bio diversity of Uttarakhand. 

41 students accompanied by 4 teachers commenced the journey on 25 May, at the School. The overnight journey was filled with enthusiasm, and the students bonded through games and lively conversations.

The group arrived in Nainital on the morning of 26 May and was welcomed by the refreshing mountain air and serene surroundings. After breakfast and check-in at the hotel, the students visited the beautiful Naini Lake. Surrounded by majestic hills and lush greenery, the lake presented a calm and mesmerising view. The peaceful atmosphere and the cool breeze added to the charm of the place. 

After lunch at Mall Road, the group visited the famous Naina Devi Temple, known for its spiritual significance and peaceful ambience. The temple visit allowed the students to observe the region’s cultural and religious heritage. Later in the evening, the students explored the lively Mall Road, filled with local shops, cafes and vibrant sights that reflected the town’s culture.

On 27 May, the students visited the Eco Cave Gardens, where inter connected caves and hanging gardens offer both adventure and learning. The natural rock formations and unique cave structures fascinated everyone. 

The next stop was Snow Viewpoint, which offered a breathtaking andnpanoramic view of the mountains. The tranquil environment and scenic beauty left the students deeply impressed. 

On the morning of 28 May, the students departed for Jim Corbett National Park after breakfast at the hotel. The scenic drive through forests and hills made the journey enjoyable and memorable. Upon arrival, the students checked into a resort. 

After a hearty lunch, the group participated in a nature walk. On the walk, they observed the old canals constructed during the British period and learned about their historical significance. The tranquil natural surroundings, melodious chirping of birds, and lush greenery created a soothing and rejuvenating atmosphere. The enthusiastic group was thrilled to spot a jackal, wild boars and a herd of spotted deer, making the experience even more memorable. 

In the evening, a DJ night was organised at the resort, where the students enthusiastically participated in music and dance activities, making it an enjoyable time on the excursion.

The final day of the trip began with an early morning jeep safari to Sitabani Conservation Reserve in Jim Corbett National Park. The safari enabled the the students to witness the rich wildlife and natural habitat of the region closely. The experience of exploring the forest during the early hours of the day was thrilling and unforgettable. 

After breakfast at the resort, students prepared for the return journey, carrying with them unforgettable experiences, stronger friendships and valuable lessons about nature, teamwork, and responsibility.

The excursion proved to be both educational and entertaining, living up to the School mantra of “Edutainment”. It not only allowed the students to appreciate the beauty of nature but also strengthened their spirit curiosity and independence. 

The trip will indeed remain a treasured memory for all the participants.
