Top honour for Hitansh Sharma, Class 9 at GOI's INSPIRE MANAK
Hitansh Kumar Sharma of The Indian School, Class IX, has achieved the distinction of having his innovative idea selected under the “INSPIRE–MANAK Scheme”, a prestigious initiative of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. He has also been awarded a cash prize of 10,000 as part of this recognition.
The Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research programme aims to nurture scientific temper, creativity and original thinking among students. Through the “INSPIRE–MANAK” initiative, students from Classes VI to XII are encouraged to develop ideas that address real life challenges through scientific understanding and innovation. Selection under this scheme is a significant recognition of a student’s ability to think independently and apply knowledge meaningfully.
Hitansh’s idea centres on developing an automated health monitoring booth that can efficiently measure vital signs such as body temperature, SpO, heart rate, blood pressure, and room temperature. The proposed system seeks to replace time-consuming manual methods with a faster and more accurate alternative. It is designed to automatically log data to a local web server for real-time monitoring, as well as to Google Sheets for storage and analysis. The aim is to achieve accuracy comparable to commercial devices while maintaining a user-friendly interface for both patients and healthcare professionals.
This achievement reflects the emphasis laid by The Indian School on fostering curiosity, critical thinking and a spirit of inquiry among its students. The school consistently provides opportunities and an encouraging environment for young learners to explore scientific ideas and translate them into practical outcomes.
The School congratulates him on this accomplishment and wishes him continued success in his scientific pursuits.
