Visit to the Crafts Museum, class 4.

The students and us teachers of class 4 visited the Crafts Museum on 29 August, 2012 .It was a wet morning and it had heavily the previous night. Yet the mood was not the slightest bit dampened! We eagerly climbed into the bus and sped towards our destination.

The museum is innovatively set in surroundings of mud huts, dust walkways and village sit-outs. Scattered in their midst were some of the best artisans from distant corners of the country, showcasing their skills for visitors. Their wares were also on sale for visitors who wished to carry away momentos.

The craftsmen happily responded to the queries of visitors even as they demonstrated their techniques as we strolled past. The ambience was accentuated by folk musicians and singers from Rajasthan enthralling with their earthy rhythm and rapid beat even as brightly attired Rajasthani puppets performed vigorously to attract passers-by.from Rajasthan. Several handicraft stalls lined the walkways. Terracotta horses, pottery, wood carvings metalware, tribal textiles, handmade jewellery, cane bins etc amply lined the galleria.

As the morning progressed, the children settled down in a quiet area in the complex for a snack. They seemed excited and enthused, as they animatedly exchanged their observations!

Later we strolled back and boarded our bus to head back to School in time for dispersal.

We reluctantly returned to our 'city- settings' and inevitably rolled back into our routine! After a really refreshing outing of edutainment.
